A Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer since 1953, Ross Sr. has been actively involved in his profession by being a member of the Cuyahoga, Ohio, and National Funeral Directors Associations. He is also a current member, selected by the Governor, of the State of Ohio Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors. He also committed himself to the community by serving as the Mayor of Mayfield Heights for 28 years. He is a former board member of the National Catholic Ministry to the Bereaved, a parishioner of St. Clare Church in Lyndhurst, and an Ordained Permanent Deacon for the Cleveland Diocese. He is a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and also served in the U.S. Navy. His community involvement includes serving on the Board of Trustees of Hillcrest Hospital, volunteering with the Cleveland Clinic Pastorial Care Department, and being an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Ross Sr. has been married to his wife, Carmella, since 1949, and they have five children.
