DeJohn Funeral Homes & Crematory has opened the 2022 Ross Sr. & Carmella DeJohn Memorial Scholarship for applications.
Students may apply for the Ross Sr. & Carmella DeJohn Memorial Scholarship by completing the online scholarship application by:
MARCH 14, 2022.
High School students that demonstrate the ideals of passion, respect and organization will be eligible for the Ross Sr. & Carmella DeJohn Memorial Scholarship. Each student awarded will receive $750 for his or her college tuition or books.
In 1993 the DeJohn family, in conjunction with the family owned funeral home, established the scholarship in honor of Ross (Sr) and Carmella’s dedication to education. Ross Sr. served, as Mayor of Mayfield Heights for over 28 years and during that time was very supportive of all school related issues including support for many school levies. More than $35,000 in scholarships has been awarded to deserving high school seniors living in Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga counties.
Scholarships were awarded to Johnathan Gaudio of Mayfield High School (planning to study Chemical Engineering); Olivia Hamilton of Charles F. Brush High School (planning to study Early Elementary Education); Thomas Green of Kirtland High School (planning to study Education); Connor Walsh Marrott of Notre Dame – Cathedral Latin (attending University of Notre Dame); Patrick Garrett of West Geauga High School (attending The Ohio State University; Finance); Nicholas Paulic (attending John Carroll University; Math); Cade McCue of South High School (attending Kent State University); Mackenzie Morris of Chardon High School (attending College of Wooster); and Charles Proctor of St. Ignatius High School (attending Belmont University; Commercial Music and Music Business Entrepreneurship).
