CAROL S. PORTER age 70, cherished daughter of the late Albert S. “Bert” and Genevieve (nee Shaveyco) Porter; dearest sister of Alan and wife Wendy (Erlanger); loving aunt of Ethan; dear niece, cousin and friend of many.
Carol was born in Cleveland on March 24, 1953. She graduated from Orange High School where she was a member of the cheerleading squad. She received her undergraduate degree (Phi Beta Kappa) from Sweet Briar College, spending her junior year in France. Carol earned a Master of Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University. She began her career at Park View Federal Savings & Loan where she served in numerous positions over the years, rising to Secretary and Director of Marketing.

She dearly enjoyed vacationing with family on Long Boat Key, Florida, and spending time with her nephew, family friends and their children and grandchildren. All who knew her described Carol as a loving and deeply caring person who was devoted to her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Carol to the Cleveland Animal Protective League, 1729 Willey Ave, Cleveland, OH 44113 and Hospice of Western Reserve, P.O. Box 72101 Cleveland, OH 44192. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at a later date.

I’m so sorry for the loss of one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever known. She was there for me when one of her best friends, my wife, passed away several years ago. They’re together with their Cairn Terriers in Heaven.

It’s a sad time for all of us who knew and loved this very special person. She was a rare combination of beauty, intelligence and love all wrapped in one unique individual. We, and many others, shall miss her very much.
God bless you, dear friend.

Carol and I went through chemo together many years ago, in fact meeting as across-the-hall roommates at Hillcrest Hospital. Her style, grace, kindness and wicked sense of humor never failed, and through the good, bad and pretty along the years, she never lost any of it. Be at peace, my friend, and let’s plan on meeting for dinner together again.

Oh no! How can this be? She wS younger than I was! I remember how concerned about her brother she was, yet, he outlived her! She has joined her mother now. I tried to leave a message earlier?, but I do not see it. Perhaps I did not succeed. We used to enjoy leaving messages for each other when I took care of her mother. She was so lively, so vibrant, it is hard to think of her as gone! God bless her family. I am sure you will miss her. She loved you all so dearly! My new email is elizcoss50@ gmail.com.
