As we look back at the history of our family’s business since 1869, we find ourselves reflecting on the trust that our friends and families have placed in us over the years. For more than 135 years, the family-owned and family-operated service has provided the foundation of our structure starting in 1869 when James P. Flynn began our legacy. His grandson, J. Robert Mylott assumed the leadership role in the 1930’s and continued the legacy of his grandfather.
When our father, Ross C. DeJohn, Sr., affiliated himself with the Flynn-Froelk Funeral Home in the 1950’s, he made a commitment to providing Northeast Ohio with absolutely outstanding service, offered in the most caring and attentive way. Building upon those values, I went on to purchase the funeral home in 1986 from the Mylott family. My son, Ross DeJohn, III joined the business in the late 1990’s, therefore bringing us to our fifth generation of family ownership.
Today, our family, combined with the heritage of the Flynn, Mylott and Mullally families, still carries on the same tradition. When you are faced with planning a funeral, it is neither easy nor convenient to “shop around” for the services you need. If sorrow should strike your family, we invite you to call us, any time of the day or night, or visit either of our two locations. We pledge that all arrangements will be dignified, within your budget, and complete in every detail.
We are honored to have enjoyed the trust and confidence of the community into our third century, and we are each personally committed to our family’s tradition of honest, compassionate service.
Sincerely,
