Andrew Brian Sworan

ANDREW BRIAN SWORAN age 36, beloved husband for 9 years of Jane (nee Hardin); loving father of Ann Elizabeth and Andrew Gregory Sworan; cherished son of Andrew A. Sworan (Liz Bowman) and Jane G. Towson and step-son of Holly K. Heartz; dearest brother of Jessica Johnson (husband Brian); treasured grandson of Sheldon “Pete” and Anne (nee Wofford) Towson, Louise Sworan Milano and the late Andrew N. Sworan; devoted uncle of Alyssa and Tyler Johnson, Maggie and Tess Hardin; fond son-in-law of Greg and Margaret (nee Lyden) Hardin; dearest brother-in-law of Greg and Jennifer Hardin, Bridget and Molly Hardin (Christopher Kelly) and the late David Hardin; dear nephew, cousin and friend of many.

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Andrew “Brian” Sworan.  His life tragically ended late on March 16th, 2019. Brian, as many know him, was born on August 15, 1982, grew up on Mayfield Ridge Rd in Mayfield Hts, then on Ford Rd in Highland Hts.  He graduated from Mayfield High School in 2000, then continued his studies at Bowling Green State University graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2005.  He loved all sports, but especially baseball; playing his youth games in Highland Hts and Mayfield Hts parks; then high school baseball and in the competitive summer leagues. In college he played baseball and rugby.  He also enjoyed camping, high adventure activities and earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Troop 461.

After graduating from BGSU, he met the love of his life while working at a temporary job before he started his career.  Within a few years they were married, and were blessed with a daughter and son.  At the same time, he started developing an insurance practice, providing services to commercial customers. Brian was an insurance consultant for ICG. He enjoyed baseball and was a fan of the Indians, Browns and Cavs. Brian enjoyed 80’s and 90’s music, was a baseball and stamp collector and loved finance and economics. He was outgoing, loyal, social, sensitive, funny, witty and loved his family. Brian was your best friend and a light in the room. He will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Brian to the Ann & Andrew College Scholarship Fund in care of Jane Sworan #3970 at any Huntington National Bank branch, or at the Funeral Home.

  8. Dear Janie, Andy, Janey and all the Towson’s and Sworwan’s:
We send our prayers and love in this time of grief and the incomprehensible loss you are all facing. We will never forget Brian’s bright smile, warm spirit and big heart. We were so grateful and touched that he came with Janie and the kids to my Dad’s memorial service several weeks ago in Washington DC. What an effort to drive all the way from Cleveland! Family clearly meant everything to him. And now the family he loved so much will need to find a way to go on without a beloved husband, father, son and grandson. But as Jessica noted earlier this year, this is truly a resilient family and I hope and believe you will find a way to get through this terrible loss, however painful. If there’s anything we can do to be of support, we hope you’ll let us know.
With love and our deepest condolences — Danny, Sarah, Andrew and Ben (The Wofford family)

  9. What a tragic loss. Brian was a shining star with a great sense of humor and such a warm personality. May God hold you in the palm of His hand during these trying times.
