Angelo Joseph Messina, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2023, at the age of 89. He was born on December 9, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio to Joseph and Concetta (nee Sapienza) Messina. He worked for many years at Carling Brewery and Topps Grocery Stores. On January 4, 1958, he married Annette Zervoudis Messina.
Angelo was a veteran of the US Navy. He enjoyed bowling, watching baseball, and traveling to Las Vegas, Florida, and Texas. He cherished the time spent with family, especially his grandsons and great-grandsons.
Angelo was preceded in death by his father, Joseph and his mother, Concetta; his brothers, Joseph J. and James A.; his sister Caroline M.; and his niece Cynthia. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Annette; his daughter, Eve Ann (Lorna); his son Nick; grandsons Justin (Maggie), Nicholas (Raika), and Anthony (Abby); great-grandsons Jaxson, Maverick, and River; sisters-in-law EZ Zervoudis and Phyllis Messina; nephew David (Erika); nieces Judi and Renee (Michael); great-nephew Joseph and great-niece Alexis.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 4-7 PM at The DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home, 4600 Mayfield Rd, South Euclid, OH, 44121. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Angelo’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of your choice. Interment will be private.
