Ann Nykiel

ANN K. NYKIEL (nee Sanko), beloved wife of the late John; loving mother of Christine Kime and John R. (wife Mary); devoted grandmother of Jeffrey Kime (Tabitha), Johnny and Kathleen Nykiel (fiancé Justin Laird) and great-grandmother of Gabriel Kime and the late Gage Kime; dearest sister of Cecelia Menarchek and the late Mary Sanko, Brother Peter Czajka, Frank Sanko, John Czajka, Helen Sanko, Stella Palaisa, Lt. Joseph Sanko, Rose Sanko and Pearl Donovan; fond sister-in-law of Henry Nykiel and Mary Jane Mascella; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Ann was born on July 25, 1919 in Pennsylvania and passed away on December 26, 2018 in Euclid, Ohio. Ann graduated high school in Pennsylvania and worked as a seamstress. She was a resident of Euclid since 1965, and formerly resided in Eastlake. Ann was an active member of Ss. Robert & William Catholic Parish, where she participated in Perpetual Adoration and the Legion of Mary. Ann enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening, and was a funny and witty storyteller. Babysitting her grandkids and spending the holidays with family gave her great enjoyment in life. Ann was caring, compassionate, hospitable, and reserved. She put others first, and she will be dearly missed.

Contributions may be made in memory of Ann to Hospice of the Western Reserve, PO Box 72101, Cleveland, OH 44192. Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, January 5, 2019 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Ann at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 4-7 PM.
