ANTHONY “COOK” PATTI age 81, beloved husband for 43 years of Celeste (nee DeCorpo); loving father of Kimberly Ann (deceased), Anthony J. (wife Karen), James T., Matthew, Benedict, and Sara; devoted grandfather of Gregory Weller, Anthony J. Jr, Michael, Thomas, and Edie; cherished son of the late Anthony and Minnie (nee DeJohn); dearest brother of Charles (wife Penny), and the late Micheline “Mickey” Donovan (husband Michael) and Benedict; dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend of many.
Tony was born on November 13, 1941, in Cleveland, Ohio and has been a resident of Mayfield Heights for over 75 years. Upon graduation from Mayfield High School in 1960, Tony continued his education at The Ohio State University and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked many years in construction and as a superintendent. He enjoyed his time as a member of the Mayfield Alumni Association and served as a past president. Tony was always learning something new, whether he was reading and learning everything there was to know about history or learning about family genealogy. He traveled to Italy and expanded his knowledge of his Sicilian heritage. Tony liked listening to Elton John, Simon and Garfunkel, the Eagles, the Bee Gees, and country music, as well as watching MSNBC, which was no surprise with his interest in politics. On September 11, 2023, the world lost a generous and devoted man. His family and friends will forever cherish his ability to help others all while making them smile and laugh with his unique sense of humor.
Donations may be made in memory of Tony to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation HERE.

Tony, Bill Spetrino, and I, Daryl Sanders, were inseparable at Mayfield High School. Bill and I were in 9th grade and Tony a year behind us. Tony got a car in 10th grade and look out – we took over the roads. We chipped in to by gas, and before you knew it a six-pack and we were all set to go. We used to find events at other schools to crash, doin’ things you don’t do at home.
But actually in today’s world quite innocent and harmless. Tony later spent time with me at Ohio State and in the early 80’s came to my home for some important days at a special time in life that we all experience. I spoke with him after so many years just a few months ago. Glad we had those shared memories and shared how important we each were to one another. God Bless you Tony

I am saddened by Tony’s passing. We were classmates, teammates and good friends. He was a great inspiration to me. I admired his abilities and his popularity but most of all, his humbleness. My deepest sympathy to Celeste and family and anyone who knew Tony. May you rest in peace, Tony.

Dear Celeste and the Patti family! My friendship with Tony began at Oakville
Elementary School in 1954, continuing through Mayfield High School and all of the years since. He was an excellent athlete, a leader and valued friend. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.
