ARTHUR D. PHILIPP age 71, beloved husband for 42 years of Linda (nee Hott); loving father of Adam (fiancée Mariam Keramati) and Bradley; cherished son of the late Arthur H. and Ruth (nee Jordan); dearest brother of the late Ruth Anne Salter; dear brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. U.S. Army Veteran.

Art was born on September 23, 1945 and passed away on August 11, 2017. He was a 30-year resident of Chagrin Falls previously of Lyndhurst. Art was a 30 year parishioner of Valley Lutheran Church in Chagrin Falls where he was active in the Stephens Ministry. He was a US Army Veteran. He graduated Shaw High School in 1963, earned his Bachelors degree from Kent State University and his Master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. Art worked at several Cleveland advertising agencies as an account executive and as marketing manager for CEI and First Energy. He was an avid reader and enjoyed golf, tennis and listening to 50’s and 60’s music. Art loved Cleveland sports teams especially the Indians. He received the most enjoyment in life from his family and his faith. Art was intelligent, loyal to his family and friends, funny, witty, a fabulous writer and loved to have a good time. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Contributions may be made in memory of Art to Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry 4515 Superior Ave, Cleveland, OH 44103. Celebration of Life Service Tuesday August 15, 2017 at 11 AM at Valley Lutheran Church 87 E Orange St, Chagrin Falls, OH 44022. Burial following with Military Honors at Crown Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Art at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) MONDAY 3-8 PM.
