BETTY “BJ” ROGERS age 82, passed away on February 17, 2023 surrounded by her dear friends.
BJ was a beloved member of the L’Arche Cleveland Community for over 30 years. She will be dearly missed, especially by her housemates Diane Bozeman and Diane Jones. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Rogers (nee Evans).
BJ was born on September 13, 1940, in Cleveland, Ohio. Life was not always the easiest for BJ growing up. She lived with her family until her 20’s and then moved between several institutions and other living situations. It was not until BJ came to L’Arche in 1992 that she found a forever home and family. She was very artistic and loved drawing and painting, especially flowers. BJ liked spending time with her friends going out to eat or shopping. A day was never complete without coffee and a few smoke breaks. This strong-willed woman of confidence and determination passed away leaving her friends missing her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to L’Arche Cleveland, 11811 Shaker Blvd. Suite 116, Cleveland, OH 44120.
Celebration of Life Service Friday, February 24, 2023, at 10:30 AM at The Funeral Home.
Burial following at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of BJ at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 4-8 PM.

God bless BJ, His special angel. She was at my daughter’s wedding. She sang “Jesus loves me.” May His loving arms embrace her.
