Dear Gunvor and Family,
John and I send you our love as we fondly remember Burt. We honor him and his strong faith in Jesus Christ. We respect his keen mind as well as all the stories and wisdom that he shared with us as we ate breakfast and birthday lunches together.
When we heard yesterday from David that Burt had been “Promoted to Glory” our hearts felt two emotions: heaviness that Burt is no longer there with you all but also joy that he is now in heaven. We pray for each of you as your minds grieve that your hearts will rejoice in God’s love and care for you personally.
“May the Lord bless and keep (protect) you. May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you (show you His favor). May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you His peace.”
Numbers 6:24-26 (The Living Bible)
Love and prayers,

Dave (and Sue),
Dave, what a great man your father was to have raised such a fine husband and father as you! He will surely be missed but Burt will live on in all you say and do. Burt stood and still stands on the solid Rock. He fought the good fight and will be bathed in light and glory forever. We look forward to meeting him one day so we can say “Thank you” for raising such a wonderful son and friend.

Dear Gunvor and Family:
We were very surprised to hear of Burt’s sudden “Promotion to Glory” having just received an email from him attaching a lovely picture of four generations of Carlsons. We are thankful that the Lord took him quickly although none of us had time to adjust to his leaving. We rejoice in the knowledge that for those who know the Lord Jesus as Savior and Lord, “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” Jesus also promised us that “blessed are they that mourn for they shall be comforted”. and we pray that the Holy Spirit, the Great Comforter” is surrounding all of you, especially Gunvor, with his comforting presence.
We will miss Burt at the Tampa Corps, he was so faithful in attendance while here during the winter months. I will miss receiving his interesting and entertaining emails which came often brightening our day. I visited Jack Cocker shortly after receiving the news of Burt’s passing to make sure he knew of his friend’s passing to be with the Lord and to provide some comfort to him. Jack will especially miss Burt his childhood friend.
We will be praying and thinking of all the family and friends who will gather to celebrate Burt’s life. May God’s comfort and care surround you all.
Blessings
Harold and Betty Hinson

Dear Gunvor and Family:
Tom and I are still in shock after hearing from David about Burt. You were part of our family. We had many good times together. Burt loved the Corps, especially the music, since he played cornet for many years. He loved the Lord and you knew by the life He lived. He is now with Ingrid and she is playing Great Is Thy Faithfulness for him.
Burt loved his family. Gunvor was his Angel. Burton Jr. and David,s family was precious to him.
We love you and will miss you so much.
Gunvor Tom and I love you but know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Dave, Sue, and all of yours, We are sorry for your loss. No matter how long he lived; no matter how he died; the loss of your father is profound, shocking and sad. Please know that you remain close in our hearts and our thoughts. Love, Melissa and Wilbur

Dear Gunvor,
My mind goes back over the many years that our families have known each other and of the days in Cleveland. What a joy it was to have you as part of our corps family in Tampa. Burt was always the distinguished looking gentleman and so vibrant right up to the end. We love you and we are praying for you and your family. I imagine he has not had a quiet moment since he got to heaven with Marianne Cocker and my mom talking a mile a minute to catch him up on all the heavenly news. I will call in a few days but know our love is with you. Tom and Kathy
