Condolence Messages

  1. Christina Bracamontes (nee Gutierrez) :

We have fond memories of Uncle Charles and Aunt Cata coming to El Paso. My fondest memory is when Marta and I were talking music with him and he was asking about what kind of music we liked. After that conversation he went to Juarez with family and on the bridge bought a cassette of the “most popular music” and it was a milli vanilli cassette (post milli vanilli lip synching scandal). Marta and I thought that was so funny! We are going to miss our Uncle Charles. Keeping Aunt Cata and the rest of the family in our thoughts and hoping the good memories of Uncle Charles will uplift you during this sad time.

  2. I am so deeply sorry to hear of Carlo’s passing. He always made me and my family feel welcome to be with him and his family. I greatly appreciated his smile and laughter as he shared those with us over many many years. I am sending love, hugs, and prayers.

  3. I’m sorry I cannot be there Sofia but I do love you very much and you will be in my prayers.
He sounded like a wonderful man.

  4. Walter M Zacharias :

Tom, Sorry about your brother. My condolences. I will keep him in my prayers.

  5. Cata and family, I hope you all get a chance to read this message. I am not able to be with you, because, as you know, I live in South America, and at the moment of Carlos’s death I was in Thailand and unable able to convey my condolences.

Cata and Carlos were among the few best friends of Iris and I for many years. We regularly attended church together…frequently followed by brunch or a trip to the country. We traveled together and attended many movies, fairs, and festivals. They regularly welcomed us in their home to watch movies… frequently unannounced.  And they  invited us to share Christmas Eve with their family many times.

I will always remember Carlos and his jovial friendly manner. He was truly one of the few people that I felt genuinely close  to and comfortable with.

Undoubtedly, Iris’s untimely death in 2007 and my abrupt decision to move to South America to live near Iris’s sister and family, greatly altered the social life of Cata and Carlos, leaving a vacuum where there had been two very close friends.

My condolences to the entire family and special wishes for Cata that she will overcome the loss of Carlos and continue to enjoy the company and closeness of her children, grandchildren, and other family members and friends.

    Love to all, Craig Horst
