CHARLES A. “CHUCK” GLINSKI, 97, of Willoughby Hills, passed away on January 25, 2022. Beloved and devoted husband of Nancy (Zupancic) for 69 years. Loving and cherished father of Lee Ann Glinski of Mentor, and Mark Glinski of Willoughby.
Preceded in death by five sisters. Favorite uncle of nephews and a niece. Chuck was a proud veteran of World War II, serving 24 months overseas in the China-Burma-India theater. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific campaign medal with a bronze star. He was grateful for the G.I. Bill and graduated from Western Reserve University where he majored in History. One of his life’s highlights was in 2015 where he went on Honor Flight to Arlington Cemetery and Washington D.C., accompanied by his daughter and son, and saw the World War II and other monuments.
He was a retiree of Caterpillar Inc. where he was the National Accounts Supervisor. A lifelong athlete, Chuck ran cross – country and boxed as a youth. In his 50’s another life highlight was him winning trophies in the Mad-Hatters canoe races, 8 ½ miles down the Grand River, with his son Mark, beating out his much younger competition. He loved golf and played into his nineties, winning a “Masters Green Jacket” in his senior golf league at Powderhorn. His love of animals knew no bounds. He was a lifetime Euclid Pet Pal member and was instrumental in building a new animal shelter in 1981 as project coordinator.
Never had a bad thought in his life. A Life well lived – “Life is Good”

My condolences to the Glinski family. Chuck was always a joy to be around and lit up the conversation. I ran into him and Mark a few years ago at the Bob Evan’s on Rt91 and I-90, he was as joyful as all the other times we spoke.

Sending to the Glinski family my thoughts and prayers on the loss of “Mr Glinski” as he was known to us on Nicholas Ave as we grew up. While it has been many years since your family lived on Nicholas the memories of the that time, including Sparky, are very sweet. God Bless you all in your time of grief.
