Charles Strauss

CHARLES J. STRAUSS age 86, beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Lyczko); loving father of Charles J. Jr. (wife Mary), Bob (wife Michele), and Laura Niederst (husband Joseph); devoted grandfather of Kristen Strauss, Erin Middlebrook (husband Brett), Lauren Strauss, Rebecca Dalton (husband Brandon), Carli Strauss, U.S. Navy, Joseph and Emily Niederst; cherished son of the late John and Anna (nee Klemencic); dearest brother of the late John (wife Gwen, deceased) and William Strauss; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Army Korean Conflict Veteran.

Chuck was born on March 15, 1932 in Cleveland and passed away on July 8, 2018. He was a resident of Chardon for 2 years, formerly of Wickliffe. Chuck graduated from Euclid High School in 1950. He was a tool and die maker for Addressograph Multigraph and B & B Tool & Die. Chuck was an avid gardener, worked on his daughter’s farm and once won yard of the year in Wickliffe. He was a Browns and Cavaliers fan. Chuck will be remembered most as a meticulous, generous, giving, reserved and a handy man who was a hard worker. He loved to do projects around the house and helping his children with projects. Chuck loved his wife’s apple pie and will be dearly missed.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Relative and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Friday, July 20, 2018 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 29850 Euclid Ave, Wickliffe, OH 44092 at 10 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Chuck at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY 4-7 PM.
