DAVE SCHIKOWSKI age 70; beloved husband of Leslie (nee Schumacher) for 27 years; loving father of Andrew (wife Joanna), Lindsey Uchbar (husband Mark), and Jennifer Redmond (husband Chad); devoted grandfather of Caleb, Carson, Savannah, Austin, Arlo, Gwenyth, and Adele; cherished son of the late Paul and Mary (nee O’Connell); dearest brother of Marg Gandolf (husband Cal), Patrick (Sue), Thomas (wife Lynn), Maribeth Albert (husband Darryl) Loree Lajeunesse (husband David), Colleen Orazem (husband Nicholas), and brother-in-law of Laura & Mark Sfiligoj, Darryl & Leanne Schumacher, Phillip (deceased) & Cindy Schumacher; dear uncle, great-uncle, and friend of many.
Dave was born August 11, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away peacefully surrounded by family at his home on July 28, 2023. Dave enjoyed living and being a friend to all in Chesterland for his entire life. He was a graduate of West Geauga High School and went on to own and operate his own landscaping and automotive repair business. Dave loved fishing, bowling, golf, casinos, scratch off tickets, gardening (including finding the perfect rock), the Cleveland Indians, Western movies, country music, a cold bottled beer and gathering with friends in his garage. Dave’s favorite past time though was being with his grandchildren, who love and treasure him as their silliest Papa. His family will forever remember him as hard-working, generous, a social butterfly with a great sense of humor, a real jokester. Dave was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, and neighbor. Dave will be deeply missed and his memories will continue to be cherished and shared by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Dave to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Dave on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 10AM until service at 2PM at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.). Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory.

My condolences to the Schikowski family. Dave was a classmate of mine at WG, 1971. A nice young man then, and as his life reflects, a good man all his life.
