
DONALD C. JASKOLKA age 84, beloved husband for 56 years of Kathleen “Gigi” (nee Roche); loving father of Troy C. (Karen Marshall), Danielle C. Clark (husband Gregg) and Ryan D; devoted papa of Will, Reese – Bennett, Noah, Britt, and Anna; cherished son of the late Joseph and Helen (nee Piatkowski); dearest brother of Dolores Brzuzewski (husband Edward, deceased) and the late Joseph (wife Donna, deceased) and treasured brother in law of Michael Roche, Connie Carr (husband Larry), Myles Roche (wife Renee, deceased), Brigid Roche and the late Mary Ellen Thompson; dear uncle, great uncle and friend of many. U.S. Army Veteran.
Donald was born on June 12, 1938 and passed away on October 23, 2022 of natural causes. He was the son of the late Joseph and Helen Jaskolka (nee Piatowski). Affectionately known as Don, he grew up in Cleveland and attended Holy Name High School where he was the star basketball player and went on to be recruited by the Army Reserve. Soon after Don’s stint in the Army, he began his loyal career of twenty-six years with United States Steel. It was during this time that he met the true love of his life, Kathleen A. Roche. They spent a glorious life together in Solon, Ohio where they raised their three children; Troy, Danielle and Ryan. When Don was not busy at US Steel, you could find “Dad/Pop” at the golf course or helping his friends with wallpaper and painting, two passions he excelled at. He was a Cleveland sports fan and enjoyed listening to Dean Martin. Don was hardworking, giving, generous and a very devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Don’s selflessness, humor and compassion will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Friday November 4, 2022, at 10 AM at St. Rita Catholic Church 32820 Baldwin Rd, Solon, OH 44139, with Military Honors to follow. Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Don at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) THURSDAY 4-8 PM.
