I was crushed when I heard the news about Duane. I first met Duane several years ago when we played softball together. We became good friends immediately. Several months after we had become friends Duane would ask me if I would be interested in doing the photography work for the annual ODCCA Convention. As quickly as I could get the words out my mouth, I said YES! He gave me a great break to get involved not only with him but the rest of this wonderful organization. I will always be forever grateful to him allowing me to be a part of this group. I was lucky enough to attend this past years meeting at the renowned Winous Point Hunt Club. After the meeting was over he gave several of us a private tour of the hunting grounds. This was the last time I saw him. I got to thank him personally for everything before I left. He was such a wonderful human being. I will miss my friend. God Bless Duane and his family.

Such a great friend. Such a nice man. A great husband and father. Nearly everyone thought he was their best friend because that’s the way he made you feel. My baby Sister Carol, Father Anthony “TJ”, Jarod, Jason & Dawn – Duane will be deeply missed by all that have ever been in contact with him. Like us, they will all have fond memories, feel blessed by his association and grateful for all that he has done for each of us. We will be missing his smile, slap on the back, and for some a kiss on the cheek, along with a firm and manly handshake. We all wish we could have had more time with him but know that he is clearly in the presence of God and in the best place possible.

I enjoyed Duanes smile and easy way when he came into the kitchen at Winous Point. He would eat with us when he stayed over for the next days shoot. He is missed already.

I am deeply distressed to hear of Duane’s passing. I thought he looked as happy and healthy this fall as I have ever seen him and I was counting on many years of hunts with his smiling face and joyous spirit. He is already terribly missed. WPSC will not be the same without him.

Carol – Very sorry to hear that Duanne passed away. You and your family are in my prayers. I had all good intentions on paying my respects in person on Friday, but on Thursday morning I ended up at UH Geauga ER, courtesy of Concord Twp’s Rescue Squad after almost passing out here at home. I was released yesterday about 3, but we all came straight home.

I had the pleasure of meeting Duane thru my job with ODNR-Wildlife and events at Winous Point and Pheasants Forever. Outstanding man and a great sportsman. I always enjoyed talking to him and sharing hunting stories. I will miss him.
