ELEANOR B. ZERNIC (nee Turocy) age 88. Beloved wife for 50 years of Frank M.; loving mother of Michael J. (wife Monica); devoted grandmother of Mikayla and Max; dearest sister of Rosemary Matejka (husband Richard), Sr Therese Martin, O.S.U., Richard Turocy (wife Karen) and the late John Turocy (wife Mary, deceased), Edward Turocy (wife Dorothy, deceased), Sr Mary Arthur, O.S.U., and baby Therese; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
A graduate of Ursuline Academy and St. John’s College, Eleanor was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Collinwood for 50 years. Eleanor was a former teacher with the Cleveland Board of Education and a member of the Catholic Order of Forester’s, St. Mary’s Alter Society, the Holmes Avenue Seniors and the St. Mary’s Seniors. She enjoyed crocheting, baking, sewing and playing Pinochle. She will be remembered as a loving, dedicated teacher who was caring, compassionate, spiritual, generous, giving, courageous and brave.
Contributions may be made in Eleanor’s memory to Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland or Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church 15519 Holmes Ave, Cleveland 44110. Burial following at Calvary Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Eleanor at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) MONDAY 2-8 PM.
