ELECTRA LADAS (nee Topakas) age 84, beloved wife for 65 years of Thomas Ladas; loving mother of Paul (wife Mary) Ladas and John (wife Barbara) Lada; devoted grandmother of Tom (wife Karolyn), Raymond, Christopher, Eric (wife Kianna), and Michael great-grandmother of Paul, Lexi, and Ella; cherished daughter of the late John Topakas and Effrosene (nee Mimides) Topakas; dearest sister of Angie Poulos (husband Jim, deceased) and the late Agrio Hadgis (husband Sidor) and Fannie Latkovic (husband Nikola, deceased); dear aunt, great-aunt, and friend of many.
Electra was born on May 15, 1937 in Monessen, Pennsylvania and passed away on January 25, 2022 with family by her side. She moved to the Cleveland area with her family as a young child. A woman strong in her faith, she was a lifelong member of Sts. Constantine and Helen Church. Before retirement, she proudly served as Secretary in the Wickliffe Schools Administrative Office. Electra was an exceptional baker. She enjoyed baking ethnic Greek pastries and sharing them with everyone. Above all, Electra was a woman devoted to her family. She was an amazing wife, mother, and Yiayia to her grandchildren and Church Yiayia to her great-grandchildren. Electra will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
Contributions may be made in memory of Electra to Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
A Service will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3352 Mayfield Rd, Cleveland, OH 44118, at 11AM.
Burial following at Knollwood Cemetery.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Electra at the church from 10 – 11 AM.
