Flora Elizabeth DiMattio

FLORA ELIZABETH DiMATTIO (nee Davis) age 96, beloved wife for 55 years of the late John; loving mother of Deborah (Mike) Gallagher, Michael (Dinah), Gregory (Lisa), Rick (Robin), Cynthia (Dave) Martin, and the late Jeffrey; devoted grandmother of Chris Gallagher, Kate (Ryan) Bose, Zack DiMattio, Rose DiMattio, Jeffery David Martin, Tori DiMattio, Isabelle DiMattio, Jacqueline (Cameron) Fuller, and Joseph DiMattio; cherished daughter of the late James and Dessie (nee Kramer) Davis; dearest sister of Peggy Lou and her 15 siblings that preceded her in death; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Flora was born on April 9, 1927. She worked at Fowler’s Mill Inn for 20 years and nannied for 20 years. Strong in her faith, she was an active parishioner at St. Helen Catholic church and was a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry. Flora was also a member of Newbury Flames for 8 years and served as President for one of them. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, collecting dolls, playing Scrabble, bowling with friends, as well as making her children’s cherished Christmas cookies. On July 13, 2023, this friendly and determined woman passed away leaving her children and grandchildren missing her dearly.

Contributions may be made in memory of Flora to St. Helen Catholic Church.

Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Flora Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at St. Helen Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Rd, Newbury, OH 44065, from 10 -11 AM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11 AM.

Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.
