
GARY A. BONCELLA, aged 69 years, of Cleveland Heights, passed away at Hospice of the Western Reserve on Oct. 23, 2022, following a brave battle with cancer. He was born in Cleveland to the late Stanley and Pauline (nee Kotowski) Boncella of Garfield Heights. Beloved husband for 41 years to Elizabeth (nee Walker), devoted father to Cynthia (Keith Anderle) and loving grandfather of Eleanor.
In honor of Gary’s Polish heritage, please treat yourself to some Kielbasa and sauerkraut!
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the MetroHealth Foundation or the Gary A. Boncella Caregiver Scholarship at College Now Greater Cleveland, www.collegenowgc.org/donate.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial Friday, Oct. 28, 2022, at St. Ann Catholic Church of Communion of Saints Parish (Coventry at Cedar) at 12 Noon. Private interment at Lake View Cemetery.
Following the Mass, a reception will be held at The Cleveland Skating Club, 2500 Kemper Rd., Shaker Heights, OH 44120 FROM 1:00 – 4:00 PM.

Dearest Liz and Family, I am so sorry you no longer have Gary to hug in person but just in your hearts. I’m sure Ellie will grow up with lots of loving stories about her Grand Father. Liz, I wish I could hug you in person. My sisters and I said a Divine Mercy Rosary for Gary when he was in hospice, which I think he would have appreciated. Though it’s no comfort now, I wish you peace of mind and heart as time passes.
