
GEORGE R. SALWAN age 82; beloved husband for 45 years of Eva (nee Khoury); loving father of Rita Abboud (husband Nessib), Gabriel (wife Jessica) and Amy Sergo (husband Lino); devoted grandfather of Eli, Mark, Clare, Alyssa and Lena; cherished son of the late Rasheed and Wardieh (nee Daher); dearest brother of the late Tanous and Boutros; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
George was born on May 27, 1931 in Aitaneet,Lebanon. He lived in Lyndhurst and previously resided in Cleveland Heights for a combined total of 51 years. George was a parishioner of St. Maron Catholic Church and a member of the Aitaneet Brotherhood Foundation. He owned a restaurant in Cleveland Heights, enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. George was an avid fan of the Browns and Cleveland Indians. His family remembers him as strong, hardworking, good at crunching numbers, stern and wise.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Maron Catholic Church, 1245 Carnegie Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44115. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of George at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) on TUESDAY from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Prayers of Incense at 7:00 PM.
