Condolence from Thomas G. Hallal on May 31st, 2014 5:42 am

Another of our heroines has taken our leave. My memories of Aunt Gerry are so positive and uplifting.Jimmy and Gerry were quite the couple,he,the coolest and she ,the raving beauty boy did they have rhythm! It was only later that I found out what an amazing host, cook and great mom she was as Jamey and I traded stories of our similar and uneven upbringing. These women were amazing for all they did for their families while shaping the character of not only their own children but also those of us who had the privilege of knowing them.I am grieved and so sorry that I cannot physically be there with you.If I was there though it would be to celebrate her life and know that Gerry’s spirit is still amongst us above all in the love ,the character and kindness of Gayle,Jamey and Ginger.I love and miss you all.

Condolence from Lynn S on May 31st, 2014 1:56 pm

Such a Force, such a Presence, always with an offer to join, sit down, have a little of this or that, always offering “from scratch” delectables. Hands-down best fried chicken and apple pie ever/anywhere, and this doesn’t even touch the traditional dishes that opened up new worlds for people. A generation of people were introduced to family, music, culture and much, much more as we flocked to the home or feast prepared by Gerri. Blessed are we who got to experience the graciousness, hospitality and humor of Gerri H and all she offered us. Thank you, Gerri, you are in our hearts always. Lynn S.

Jayme, Ginger and Gayle and all the family,
Your Mom was an amazing woman. The Haddad hospitality was the best there was with your Dad at the King’s Pub and your Mom at your dining room table in South Euclid. She is reflected in all of you.
We send our heartfelt condolences.
Gigi and Ron
p.s. She was my role model for carrying Geraldine so gracefully.
