Harvey Henry Pierman was born on December 8, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Henry & Helen Pierman. He passed away on August 4, 2017 of congestive heart failure, after suffering a cardiac arrest on New Year’s eve 2016. He lived in Payson, AZ, on a hill with mountain views at 5000′ elevation surrounded by national forest. He met his wife, Darlene (Roat) Pierman 38 years ago when they both worked at American Spring Wire Corp. where he was the Engineering Manager for 30+ years. He had 3 sons, Craig, Daniel, & the late Henry Pierman (who passed away suddenly 5 years ago) and 6 grandchildren. Harv had one sibling, his sister, Mary Ellen (& Bob) Kinney. He also left behind a dear cousin and life-long friend, Phyllis Miller. Harv cherished our dog, Chelsea, who loved camping in our 5th wheel trailer as much as we did. He missed her greatly when she passed away just a month before Harv. He was a ROMEO (Retired Old Man Eating Out) at heart and loved playing poker with his ROMEO buddies. He left lots of coins from his winnings. As the proud owner of a 1957 Studebaker Golden Hawk, he enjoyed cruising with his friends of the Rim Country Classic Car Club.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Harv to the American Red Cross and designate the funds to support Hurricane Harvey.
In remembrance of Harv’s favorite color, please wear something orange to the Celebration of Life Service Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 12 NOON at THE FUNERAL HOME. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Harv at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) We are especially sorry for your loss Darlene but everyone who knew Harv suffered a loss. He introduced me to the ROMEOS and to the poker group that we enjoyed for over ten years. Some of those coins you talked about probably were once mine. Harv won his share. I will always remember my friend Harv. Tom
Darlene I can’t imagine your loss, Harvey was such a nice man he never said an unkind word about anyone, I will miss seeing him and Chelsey in the park such a tragedy that he had to lose Chelsey just a month before his own death, our deep condolences to you and Harvey’s sons

So very sorry to hear of the passing of Harv. He was one of my best friends from a very young age. His parents and my parents were best of friends in Cleveland. So very sorry we never kept in touch. We both were busy working and supporting our families. We had so many shared interest and I have many fond memories. The gang with Jerry (Hoot) Gibson, Jack Dolence, and myself spent many good times at the Thompson Drag Strip perhaps he told you of those times. My sister-in-law Carol Gibson sends her condolences and is extremely sadden. She said it was too soon for Harvey to pass. In ending I give you my deepest sympathy and please know my prayers and thoughts are with Harvey’s entire family. RIP in the arms of our Lord. Karl and wife Janet
