Helen Campana

HELEN M. CAMPANA (nee Lupo) age 90, beloved and devoted wife for 69 years of Chester; loving mother of Barbara D’Amico (husband Frank), Carol Story (husband James), and Michael (wife Josephine) (wife Lori, deceased); devoted grandmother of Bethany, Frank, and Nicholas D’Amico (fiancée Kendra Polinko), Nathan and Andrew Miller and Michael Campana (Shaina Banaszek) and great-grandmother of Giavanna Nicole D’Amico; cherished daughter of the late Costantino and Cora (nee Charlillo) Lupo; dearest sister of the late Michael Lupo (wife Dorothy, deceased) and Dolores “Dolly” Gammiere; dear Aunt and Great-Aunt of many.

Helen was born on December 23, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away suddenly on November 25, 2017. She was a resident of Euclid for over 65 years, formerly of Cleveland. Helen was a long-standing member of St. Christine Catholic Church and more recently of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church. She attended Collinwood High School. Helen worked for The General Electric Company from 1943 to 1952 thereafter becoming a stay-at-home Mom to raise her three children. Eventually she returned to work and retired from being a facilitator at Central Kitchen for the Cleveland Schools. Helen was a wonderful Homemaker. She loved cooking, baking, and taking care of her home, yard, and family. She enjoyed shopping and watching the Indians and Cavs, the afternoon soaps, All in the Family, Golden Girls and Everybody Loves Raymond. Helen was a loving caregiver to her friends and family. She looked forward to and preparing for family gatherings and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered most as beautiful inside and out. Helen was generous, caring, giving and always worried about others. She was selfless, strong-willed, determined, faithful and a hard-worker. Helen will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial FRIDAY, December 1, 2017 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church at 10 AM. Entombment following at Lake View Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Helen at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY 2-4 & 5-8 PM.

    My condolences to you and your beloved ones. I knew Helen since I was a wee little girl, being friends and a neighbor of Barbara. Helen was always loving giving us snacks when we played and Kool-Aid in the summer…skating in the garage, and playing dress-up.
