Irene was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, where she was active in the Women’s Guild and worked many hours helping at their pasta dinners, making Italian dressing, and running there bake sales.  Irene was also a member of American Legion Post 7 Ladies Auxiliary in Wickliffe, where she helped with poppy sales.  An avid traveler, Irene also loved fishing, going to the beach, birding, and enjoyed spending time in nature. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, and gardening, and grew plants from the seeds she collected on family trips to state parks. Irene was an avid bowler and kept her mind sharp with crossword puzzles. A fierce competitor at family game nights, Irene also enjoyed playing slot machines, and she had a knack for knowing all the “hot” machines.  Irene was voted Valentine’s Queen of Brookdale, her assisted living community. Irene loved people and loved to laugh, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
