James Alan Poluka

James Alan “Jimmy” Poluka was born on May 7, 1959 in Cleveland, and peacefully passed away on Sept. 7, 2018 at Hospice House of Hospice of the Western Reserve. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester W. “Bill” and Elizabeth “Betty” (nee Kassay), and his brother Bill. He is survived by his brothers Michael, Bobby and Johnny.

Jimmy was a lover of music, especially Disco. If you wanted to know the name of any disco song, who sang it and where it was produced, all you had to do was ask Jimmy.

Besides the love of music, he loved pierogis and onions, garage sales, B movies (second only to Raquel Welsh in “1 Million Years B.C.”), Barbie dolls, robots and monsters of all kinds. His eclectic collection of movie posters, Barbie dolls and replicas of monsters and robots (some purchased but many homemade) gave ample proof to his likes. Jim was also a great artist, but don’t ask him to do a picture or art piece for you. Rather, as is true for anyone with artistic talents, it had to be an inspiration for him to begin his creativity.

Jim will always be remembered and loved by those who knew him. His smile, his laugh, his enthusiasm will always be a source of comfort when thinking of him. Jimmy had many friends, Tom, Sonia, Maria, Daisy, Jean and Bill – just to name a few. He loved his family and his friends and was always there to laugh and have a good time with them.

Goodbye Jim. May you Rest in Peace and may God be with you as you join your family and friends who have gone before you. You will always be in our hearts and memories. We know the Disco music and dancing in heaven just got a whole lot better!!

Lovingly written and submitted by Tom

    Jimbo,
It wont be easy you’ll think its strange when I try to explain how I feel that I still need your Love after all that I’ve done , You wont believe me, all you will see is a girl you once knew although she’s dressed up to the nines at sixes and sevens with you …. I had to let it happen , I had to change couldn’t stay all my life down a heel , looking out of the window, staying out of the sun , so I chose freedom running around trying everything new but nothing impressed me at all , I never expected it to.
” DONT CRY FOR ME ARGENTINA” THE TRUTH IS I NEVER LEFT YOU, ALL THROUGH MY WILD DAYS MY MAD EXISTENCE , I KEPT MY PROMISE DONT KEEP YOU’RE DISTANCE “( I will remember you always Jimmy …): ) And as for fortune and as for fame , I’ve never invited them in , Though it seemed to the world they were all I desired . They are illusions they’re not the solutions they promised to be the answer was here all the time , ” I LOVE YOU ” and hope you Love me…… ” DONT CRY FOR ME ARGENTINA” … THE TRUTH IS I NEVER LEFT YOU, ALL THROUGH MY WILD DAYS MY MAD EXISTENCE , I KEPT MY PROMISE DONT KEEP YOU’RE DISTANCE “( I will remember you always Jimmy …): ) ” Our favorite”
Have I said too much there’s nothing more left I can say to you But all you have to do is look at me to know that every word is … ” TRUE ” song – from Evita
I can still see you and I , John , Kelcy and your mom singing this song … much love always with Love Love xoxoxoxoxoxo
Miss and love you Jimmy and I will always remember our time spent together But I will See you soon and we will sing again together .. Always with Love Agnes

  11. Dear Jimmy. I remember you as a kid. You were always cracking such hysterical jokes. Even though I didn’t get to see you much as I grew up, I will never forget your warmth and humor. You made Daisy laugh so hard. She would sometimes share with me the funny things you would do. I went to see you dear Jimmy in hospice but I was too late. God had called you that evening. I wanted to tell you how it was such a pleasure to know you. God bless you dear Jimmy. Please make my mom Eve dad laugh up there in heaven okay.
