
JAMES J. DEININGER age 92, beloved husband of the late Janice (nee Chicketti); loving father of John (wife Nancy), Joseph and Michael (wife Jackie); devoted grandfather of James (fiancé Arielle Best), Danielle Fikaris (husband Sam), Lauren Thomas (husband Trevor), Sarah (wife Nancy Faulhaber), Austin (wife Joshlyn), Alyssa (fiancé Zach Retych) and great-grandfather of Leo and Luca; cherished son of the late Anthony and Eva (nee Koerner); dearest brother of the late Clarence (wife Rita, deceased), Agnes, Paul (wife Delores, deceased), Ralph, Jeanne, Sr. Geraldine, SSJ, and Carl (wife Nancy); dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
Jim lived in Highland Heights for the past 7 years and was previously a longtime resident of Mayfield Heights. He graduated from Benedectine High School in 1949. Jim then went on to join the U.S. Army where he served in the Korean Conflict and was a Color Guard for the 43rd Infantry Division. He was also a member of Collinwood Memories. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, coached CYO football, loved bowling, doing puzzles, dancing and more so watching his children and grandkids sporting events. Jim was very social with a great sense of humor. He was very handy and could fix anything. Mostly he was devoted to his family and friends. Jim will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
U.S. Army Korean Conflict Veteran. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, January 18, 2023 at 10 AM at Communion of Saints Parish at St. Ann Catholic Church 2175 Coventry Rd., Cleveland. Burial following with Military Honors at Lake View Cemetery.
