Growing up with the St Clare Youth Group, there were always 3 permanent figures. The Elwoods, the Scolaros, and of course, the Turcs. Janet was one of the nicest people I had ever met. (Even if I had allegedly assisted in the TP’ing of her home.) She was always there with a smile and a helping hand. She will be truly missed. Heaven has truly welcomed home one if it’s angels.
With deepest sympathy,
The Schuster Family.

Dear Turcoleveri Family,
Please accept my condolences on your deep loss of someone whose life and legacy was about love. I can recall a number of conversations with Jan that began with the simple exchange of, “How are you?” Jan was a gifted listener and a beautiful example of what God’s love looks like in this world. She was a kind and compassionate lover of all people and she was a terrific youth minister. Please know that our diocesan youth ministry community is praying for your family and for Jan in her heavenly home where this is no more suffering. Thank you for sharing Jan’s life and love with so many. God be with you. Love in Christ, Dobie Moser

Dear Jim and Family,
Jan was the most caring person I have ever known. Even during her last days when others would have been concerned with their own fate, she was thinking of others (her family and the youth in her youth group).
She refused to let go until she had ascertained that you would be alright.
She made me promise that I would check on you to make sure.
I am certain that she is in heaven and is continuing to watch over you. Her love for her family is stronger than death.
God bless and keep all of you.

I was so shocked to hear Bill Elwood announce Jan’s death at Mass Saturday evening. (St. Francis) I know that Jan had been through some very difficult physical problems but even when I last saw her last summer, she was still upbeat and worried about everyone else. She was a person who accepted everyone for who they were and did not judge them. Her suffering is over. I will pray for you and your family. May God support you through this difficult time.

If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I’d walk in my garden forever.
May the gift that Jan was to all who knew her bring you comfort.

Mr. Turk, Gina, Jim, Nick, and family,
I was so saddened to hear Mrs. Turk went to heaven. She was so special to me in every way and truly is a part of who I am today! Spending every Sunday and more through crucial teen years with your wife/mother, taught me so much. She was a gift from god and touched so many. Words can’t express how wonderful she was and the gift she was to this world. You already know and have so many memories to cherish! May god lighten your pain at this difficult time and help you smile again as you remember how truly blessed we all were with her on earth, until we one day meet again in heaven.

Jan was someone who touched so many lives in so many ways. She leaves behind a world that, while saddened by her loss, is also a place that his better for having known her. Her legacy will last well into the future because of her involvement with the Youth Group and with her children and grandchildren. Those of us who knew her should consider ourselves lucky if our legacy should be one tenth of the one that Jan left behind.

Even though I have been away for a lot of years, the memory of those years when we spent time growing up together as kids will remain. Those memories always come flowing back when I come home for the annual reunion and when I return home I always carried with me the time I spent with Jan, her optimism, her grace, her serenity. My gosh Jan you will be missed. My deepest sympathy to all those she loved and those that loved her; Jim T., Nickie, Gina, Jim and the grandkids.
