
JAY A. RESTEL, aged 70 years, beloved husband for 33 years to Claire Gavin Restel, devoted son of the late Arthur and Cathryn Adele (nee Jerger), cherished brother-in-law to Patricia Gavin Johnson, loving uncle to Andrew and Elizabeth Johnson, and great-uncle to Aiden and Elyse Johnson.
Jay and Claire were married on Mackinac Island on Sept. 9, 1989. Jay was a Supervisory Bank Examiner, retiring after 46 years with the Cleveland Federal Reserve Bank. Mackinaw City, MI held many special memories and vacation times for Jay and Claire. Jay was an avid golfer, bowler, and friend to Bill W.
Contributions in memory of Jay suggested to Pancreatic Cancer Research, or to Catholic Charities. Relatives and friends are requested to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at Gesu Catholic Church at 12 Noon. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Jay at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) FRIDAY 3-5 AND 6-8 PM.
