She lived in Cleveland Heights since 1983 and previously lived in Virginia and Connecticut. Raised in New Orleans, she graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1957. Jeanne was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Communion of Saints parish, the Couples Club, book clubs, the local French club, and the Forest Hills Swim Club. She was active in the John Carroll University community.
She enjoyed studying literature, traveling to Europe and around the United States, studying antiques, and genealogy. An avid sports fan, she loved sailing, gardening, supporting her children and grandchildren sporting events, and rooting for the Indians/Guardians. Jeanne had an amazing intellect and a lifelong love of learning. An active and engaged mother, providing pragmatic and sage advice, Jeanne gracefully shared with her kids and grandkids the value of education, art, music, history, and literature. Jeanne was a wonderful, caring and smart woman who added a lot to the Ryan family. The family was often sitting in the backyard enjoying time together and watching the kids playing. Grandma Jenny loved the gatherings.

Aunt Diane,
Thank you for the wonderful thoughts and memories. Mom treasured all the time she had with family.
Matt Ryan
Considering all the “Ryan boys,” Aunt Jeanne was, without a close second, the most patient person I have come across. Truly a kind hearted lady. There are few people with her grace and composure anymore. There are many fond memories with from my childhood that involve the Cleveland Ryans, and she played a central role, sometimes the only actual “adult” in the room. Rest well, love Matt.

Matt, thank you, much appreciated. Mom cherished the family gatherings (and sometimes tolerated them!). You, Lindsay and the girls were much missed and talked about this week.
