JOAN C. LARES (nee Paulcheck) age 80, beloved wife for 33 years of the late Pete G. Lares; cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (nee Hiscar) Paulcheck; dearest sister of Mary Louise Weltner (husband Warren) and the late Patricia Clay; beloved sister in law of Michael Kozlowski and Judy Hibbert; loving niece of the late Elizabeth Brayer; dear aunt of Nicole Gray (husband Shawn), Lori Weltner, Scott Weltner (wife Gina), Laurie Runyan (husband Mike), Susan Peterson-Chavez, Lisa Ort (deceased) (husband Mike) and great-aunt of many, adored cousin of Edward and JoAnne Hiscar; fond friend of Betty Lemieux, Allan and Terra Rowland and Mary Bronson; dedicated member of North Coast Crochet Guild.

Joan was born on January 18, 1939 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and passed away on February 8, 2019. She was a resident of Mayfield Heights for 35 years and a member of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church since 1963. Joan graduated from High School in Union Town, PA and worked as a secretary for Republic Steel. She loved sailing, 4th of July picnics, crocheting items for the homeless and was an avid reader. Joan loved the Cavs. She will be remembered most as a loving, caring and social woman who loved to meet new people. Joan will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joan to St. John of the Cross or Brookdale Senior Living 30630 Ridge Rd Wickliffe, OH 44092.

Please MEET at church for Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, February 14, 2019 at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church 140 Richmond Rd, Euclid, OH 44143 at 9:30 AM. Private burial following at Knollwood. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Joan at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) WEDNESDAY 3-7 PM.
