JODI MARIE LITTMAN TOMASZEWSKI age 48 (Jodi by the way would be livid that we included her age in this), beloved wife for 22 years of Jeffrey; devoted mother of Emma, Chloe and Paige; cherished daughter of Matthew and the late Patricia (nee Yemich) Littman; dearest sister of Matthew Littman (wife Melissa); loving niece of Sharon “Aunt Shoe” Yemich, John Yemich, George Littman (wife Cathy) and Dean Littman (wife Barb); dear daughter-in-law of Roy Tomaszewski and sister-in-law to Roy J. and Eric (wife Samantha), loving aunt and cousin of many
Jodi grew up in New Athens, Ohio (population 353, a post office, one convenience store, a small bowling alley, and a single red flashing traffic light in the center of town). She graduated as Valedictorian of Cadiz High School in 1991. As a small-town girl, Jodi traveled to the city, went to Case Western Reserve University where she received a bachelor’s degree in 1995 and her Juris Doctorate from the law school in 1999. Jodi worked her entire professional career with the law firm of Dworken & Bernstein, where she became the first female partner in 2007.
Jodi was a devoted mom, supporting her daughters in sports, primarily volleyball, where she served as an officer on the Riverside Volleyball Booster Club. Jodi loved music, which was most evident by the multitude of concerts and music festivals she attended with close friends. She was an enthusiastic sports fan, having season tickets to the Browns, Indians and Cavs. Her sports highlight moment was waiting in line repeatedly at the Porta Potty during the 7th Game of the 2016 NBA Championship because the Cavs only played well that night while she was in line, she claimed. Jodi loved the outdoors, two hour naps, ski trips out West, curling up with a great book on the beach, and creating memorable vacations with family and friends. Jodi’s colleagues at Dworken & Bernstein will remember her as a talented and dedicated lawyer and will miss finding various items, such as her cell phone that she absentmindedly left in their offices or cars.

Jodi was the best boss and friend!! I worked for her for 14 years. I remember her first pregnancy- Emma. She was texting me about work from the time she got to the hospital right up until her delivery…. that was one amazing woman. First she was blessed with a wonderful husband Jeff, followed by three beautiful girls who made up such a loving and wonderful family. She taught me so much not only as a legal assistant but about life’s journey. I will definitely see her one day in heaven and we can relive some of our days here on Earth. My heart goes out to you Jeff, Emma, and Chloe

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who knew Jodi. I pretty much grew up in new Athens and I remember Jodi well…she was older than me by a decade, but she was always so kind to me. The last time I saw her was at a browns game….of all places she spotted me in a whole mess of people even after not seeing her in years. She said she knew it was me because she could spot my smile and recognize my laugh from 100 miles away. Her smile, laugh and kindness will always be remembered. Prayers to everyone whose life was touched by Jodi and her beautiful soul.

I am saddened by the loss of such a beautiful person. Jodi was my childhood friend and classmate in New Athens and then later at CHS. We would reconnect most years at the NA Cake Walk. (She and the girls and Jeff always had the BEST costumes). I have many happy memories of spending time with her throughout the years. Heaven is a little brighter now. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I cannot find the right words to say. I am heartbroken and cannot believe it. The world will be lost without you. You are loved beyond and you will be missed so much. You were a great listener and friend to everyone. I know we haven’t seen each other in a while, but Facebook made it possible to keep up, and to this day, I can hear that infectious laugh of yours. I will be praying for your girls and husband daily. I know they meant the world to you. With our deepest sympathy and much love to the family….

When she started at the firm as a law clerk, we said, she is the smartest law clerk we will ever hire. When she passed the bar and worked for years with us as our partner, we said, she is the most well liked lawyer in the firm. When we moved through years and decades, and grew with her, and Jeff, and the girls, and saw how well she treated EVERYONE, we said, she is the very best person we know. Rest in peace, dear friend.

Over the years, I only spent time with Jodi and my cousin Jeffrey on a few different occasions.(Distance is the thing that usually keeps people apart). I watched her life through Facebook. I was at Volleyball games, and several sports events, via fb. I watched her girls grow up into the beautiful young ladies they are today. I saw the love she and Jeffrey shared, which was amazing. My heart aches for Jeff and the girls, but I know they have a huge support group. Prayers to the family, I’m sending my love and hugs to Jeffrey and the girls. May Jodi rest in heaven, as she has joined some of her loved ones who left before her. All my love, Lorraine

When we were younger we spent quite some time together. Jodi was an awesome person all the way around, loved her girls beyond measure and was so proud of all of their accomplishments. Her and Jeff made the perfect couple their love showed daily. She was a daddy’s girl for sure! I am proud to say I am a member of Jodis family. Still can’t believe she is gone at such a young age but God has a plan for her. Go rest high on that mountain Jodi. Love you girl.

Although words are so inadequate at this time, I extend heartfelt sympathy to you all. Jodi was such a sweet, cute, smart, determined and compassionate person. My thoughts now center around the pure joy she had on her face at the New Athens Cakewalks when she and her family would walk around the gymnasium at the Franklin Museum dressed in some of the most fantastic costumes. Jodi was love. And I shall forever miss her.

Jodi is a friend since childhood. I’m honestly not sure she made any enemies in her life. I can’t imagine she ever could have. Such a sweet lady. Jodi was 2 years older than I. When starting HS, in Cadiz, she always smiled and said hello when passing through the hallways. Never acted as an “upper classman”. Everyone was on her level. Around 5-6 years ago, I saw her at the NA Cakewalk while visiting family. She didn’t hesitate to walk over, give me a hug & ask how I was. Her, Matt (Chew) & I spoke for a while. It was awesome seeing that she hadn’t changed one bit. The world will miss her. She was a shining star from our little town. My condolences to her family.

Jeff, Emma, Chloe, & Paige~We’ve never met, but your wife and your mom will always hold a very special place in my heart. At a very difficult time in my life, she was a source of true comfort for me. Her smile was contagious and the joy for you girls shined so brilliantly from her! She truly captured the philosophy of “Finding Joy in the Journey”. May each of you find support from unexpected people and places during the days and months to come (as Jodi was for me). Please hold onto the gift of happy memories, which I know you have tons of, and keep her beautiful qualities alive with the choices you make in your lives!
Cindy

I am so heartbroken and have been since I heard of Jodi’s passing. We grew up together in New Athens. We went to school from Kindergarten til Cadiz High School graduates in ’91.
