JOSEPH PALMISCIANO, aged 90 years, beloved husband of the late Antoinette (nee Ladny), dear father of Rebecca Vdakakes (husband Paul), Michael (deceased) and John (wife Donna), loving grandfather of Marisa, Francesca, Maria Rose and Vince. United States Army Veteran.
Joseph Palmisciano was born December 8, 1929 in St. Phyllis, Italy and passed away January 5, 2020 in Euclid, OH. He was a resident of South Euclid for the past 54 years. Joe was a member of Cornerstone Community Church in Mayfield Heights for 25 years, and served at the City Mission as a cook for 20 plus years. He also served with Redeeming Grace Prison Ministry for 12 years.
Joseph was a graduate of Shaw High School. He worked most recently as a meat cutter, and was a member of Meat Cutters Union # 880. Prior to that, he worked for Fisher Food Inc (aka Fazio’s), Mama Mia Foods and Richfield Farms. Joe proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1951-1953, and was a combat veteran of the Korean War. He also served as a cook while in the Army.
He enjoyed hanging out with good friends and watching westerns. Joe like to listen to church hymns and Italian music. He found great joy spending time with his family and the Sunday pasta dinners. He was a man of great faith. He loved God with all his heart. Joseph was an extremely devoted family man and a faithful friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services Friday, Jan. 10, 2020 at Cornerstone Community Church, 1400 Lander Rd., Mayfield Heights (44124), at 11 AM. Entombment following with Military Honors in Knollwood Garden Crypt. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Joe at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) THURSDAY, JAN. 9, FROM 3-5 AND 6-8 PM.
