HOGAN (nee Cvitic) age 95, beloved wife for 45 years of the late Arthur; loving mother of Dennis (Lee), Dawn (Mark), and Douglas (Cathy); devoted grandmother of Shannon (Mark), Jennifer (Anthony), Michael (Heidi), Douglas, Jr. (Melissa), Madison (Zach), and Jennifer; great-grandmother of 8; cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Gizella (nee Schmidt) Cvitic; dearest sister of Emma Waid (Harlan, deceased) and the late Gizella Stochl; dear cousin of Mary Michal.
Josephine was born on August 2, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away on March 27, 2021 in Chardon, Ohio. She graduated from Chardon High School in 1943 as Salutatorian. She worked at Addressograph Multigraph, before becoming the secretary of Maple Elementary School, in Chardon, from 1960-1982. On November 22, 1947 in Thompson, Ohio, Josephine married the love of her life, Arthur. They moved to Perrysburg, Ohio after they retired. However, she enjoyed working and began working as the secretary in the Mayor’s office. She also volunteered at St. Rose Church for over 20 years, where she was president of the senior club, and at hospice for 21 years. Josephine loved to travel. She went to Alaska and Hawaii. She loved the ocean the most, especially going to Hilton Head with her family. She enjoyed helping others and could always find joy in gardening. She grew up the youngest of three girls. As a child she lived on a farm and would wake up every morning to milk the cows before going to school and eventually work. This taught her the value of hard work. Josephine adored her family and appreciated her friends, especially those from the Perrysburg Cul-de-sac.

So sorry to see this. It was so nice to see Mrs. Hogan at the Alumni dinner a few years ago. She looked just like I remembered her as the secretary at Maple Elementary. Sincere condolences to her family, I know she was so proud of them. Treasure Your memories, she will always be with you.

Dear Dear Jo, I had left a voice message and thought I should just google for an obituary. You are finally at peace, it is what you wanted. What good times we had, how you helped me in so many ways. How much I will miss you. You and mom would laugh so hard. We had so much fun in Vegas, so many memories, holiday BBQs, fat Tuesday Paczki shares, so many times you would say “My boys would never believe me” LOL, i will never forget how we laughed. I love you, Carol Donohoe Robertson
