JULIA MILLER (nee Babic) age 94, beloved wife for 48 years of the late Herman; loving mother of Herman (wife Joanne), Julie, Marlene Miller (husband Peter Pronovost), and the late William; devoted grandmother of Scott, Brittany (husband Brian), Matthew, Ethan, and Emma and great-grandmother of Eleanor and Clara; cherished daughter of the late Franc and Julka (nee Mustar) Babic; dearest sister of the late Franc (wife Francka), Boris (wife Julka), and Mirko; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Julia was born on December 26, 1927 in Kompolje, Slovenia and passed away on March 4, 2022. She married the love of her life, Herman, on February 28, 1959 in Paris and together they raised their four children in Kirtland, Ohio, in the home they built. Strong in her faith, Julia was a founding member of Divine Word Catholic Church. She enjoyed being a member of Slovenska Pristava and attending their events, especially the Slovenian dances. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, and especially gardening. She loved working in her yard, tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. In her later years, she treasured the memories she and Herman made as they traveled. She also cherished the time she had with her grandchildren. She was a true caregiver to, not only her family, but her extended family in Slovenia and all those she encountered and for that she will be dearly missed.

I met Julia in 2016 when we took an exercise class together and she was an inspiration to the class. I visited her garden and was inspired again. It seemed she took to heart God’s instruction to Adam in the garden of Eden, “to tend and keep it.” She was a very special woman.

To Herman, Julia and Marlene–I lived next door to your Mom and Dad on Garden Dr. and my mother Mary Frech was a good friend of your Mom. I remember you all growing up before you moved to Kirtland.. I last saw your Mom at my mother’s funeral and we had a nice long talk. She was a very sweet lady and I am sure she will be missed by many. So sorry to hear of your loss–sending condolences and love in this sad time. Earl Frech

My Condolences to you for the loss of such a wonderful woman! The video is such a beautiful tribute to a beautiful woman! I met Julia at Church & our exercise class! We talked about her strudels a lot because she made them like my Mom did, w/real stretched dough! She loved telling me & i loved listening. She’d always make & donate strudels to our Bake Sale & they were gone in seconds! She reminded me so of my Mom! She’s an inspiration & a blessing to this world & always will be!
