
KATHERINE M. NUCCIO, 94, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023. Born to Lawrence and Margaret McDonald (nee Hynes) April 26, 1929, Cleveland, Ohio. Katherine and her husband, Joseph (deceased 2019), built their family home in Mayfield Heights where they lived for 64 years. Katherine was a devoted wife and homemaker who personified Christianity, sang in the St. John’s Cathedral Choir and with The Royal Kings. She loved dancing and enjoyed being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews, and friends. Everyone who knew Katherine loved her kind spirit, positivity, and sense of humor. She will be sincerely missed and fondly remembered by all those who loved and admired her.
Katherine was preceded in death by her sisters Margaret, Eleanor, Rita, and Jane and her brothers John, James, and Joseph.
Katherine is survived by daughters Cynthia Krause (Dale) and Holly Sanchez (Daniel); sons Lt. Col. Jeffrey (Katherine) and David; brother Robert McDonald (Patricia); cherished grandchildren Gina (David Moak), Hannah Buffington (Brien), Adam Krause, Morgan Krause, Julianna Sanchez; and great-grandchildren Lucca, Malcolm, Rosemary, Nash, and George.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Katherine M. Nuccio to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 30080 Hospice Way, Westlake, Ohio 44145. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at St. Francis Catholic Church 6850 Mayfield Rd., Gates Mills at 11:30 AM. Burial following at Western Reserve Memorial Garden. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Katherine at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) TUESDAY 10 – 11 AM.
