KENNETH DONALD DEYO, Attorney at Law, aged 85 years, beloved husband for 64 years to Roselyn “Lynn” (nee DeMarinis), dear father of Michael (wife Laura), Stephen, and Andrea Deyo Zaluski (husband Gregory), loving grandfather of Nicholas (husband Donovan Jones) and Christopher Deyo, and Daniel, Matthew and Timothy Zaluski, devoted brother of the late Althea Ryan, Dorothy Miles and Mary Thompson, fond uncle and great-uncle.
Kenneth was born on October 27, 1937, and passed away on September 16, 2023. Kenneth grew up in Manchester, New York and attended Syracuse University where he met the love of his life, Lynn DeMarinis. After graduating he attended Case Western Reserve School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio where he earned his JD degree and then continued on with a successful law practice for the better part of 45 years. Lynn and “Don” (as Ken was affectionately called) settled in the Cleveland area and raised their three children, Michael, Stephen and Andrea.
Don loved music. He was gifted with a beautiful tenor voice which he lent to several local singing ensembles over the years as well as singing most Sundays in the choir at Church of the Savior in Cleveland Heights. He was an exceptional storyteller, holding court at the dinner table and keeping everyone amused with his observations, experiences and humor. Lynn and Don enjoyed extensive traveling throughout the world including a trip to Antarctica. They managed to visit every continent except Australia. Don was a dedicated Cleveland sports fan – following highs and (mostly) lows of his beloved Browns. He enjoyed gardening and in later years, continued to keep his mind sharp with his daily game of scrabble with wife Lynn. Don was a kind and generous soul and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His presence will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
Contributions in memory of Ken suggested to Hospice of the Western Reserve, P.O. Box 72101, Cleveland, OH 44192.
Funeral services Friday, Sept. 22, 2023, at the funeral home at 11 AM. Burial following in Lake View Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Ken at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 3-7 PM.
