ALBANESE (Derfuhs) age 92, beloved wife of the late Damiano J.; loving mother of Santina Gerrity (dec) (husband Gary dec), Lisa Folisi (husband Russ), Ramona Albanese-Allen (dec) (husband Christopher), Cynthia, Damiano S. (wife Amy) and Laura Gielink (husband John); devoted grandmother of Katie Brown (husband Scott), Kelley Lee (husband Dustin), Timothy Folisi (wife Lauren), Jarrod Maistros (wife Erin), Madonna Albanese (husband Frank Guerrein), Daniel, Elizabeth, Jack and Michael, Grace Gielink (husband Kyle Morgan), Emma, Will, Libby and Graham Gielink and great-grandmother of Mikayla, Lily, Frankie, Izzy and Salem; cherished daughter of the late John and Bertha Derfuhs (nee Drsek); dearest sister of the late Ann Heisler (husband Buddy dec) and the late John Derfuhs (wife Virginia); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Lillian was born on July 27, 1931 and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on August 19, 2023. Lillian grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and attended Jane Adams High School. She married Damiano and they had 6 beautiful children together. Lillian was a domestic engineer who was devoted to her husband and children. She was strong, gracious and always hospitable. Lillian loved vacationing on the beach with family especially in Siesta Key, Florida. Her loving family will remember her for her great laugh, her sense of humor and for her wisdom. She was always someone to look up to. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family request no flowers to be sent and in lieu, contributions made in memory of Lillian to St Jude.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Lillian at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) FRIDAY from 4-8PM.
The family will have private Prayers of Christian Burial with Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.
