
In loving memory of LILLY EARLINE (WOMACK) ESKELIN (nee THOMAS), age 95, who loved being a Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma to her four Children, eight Grandchildren and eleven Great Grandchildren. Departing her loved ones on January 26, 2021, Lilly was born in Lacey’s Spring, AL on January 21, 1926. Daughter of the late Joseph Stanhope and Rosa Lee (nee Sharp) Thomas, she was the first born of five children. Lilly was a devoted and caring mom to Cecil Glenn Womack (deceased) (wife Ellen, deceased), Ronnie Turbeville (deceased) (husband Buddy, deceased), David Womack (Billie Eyeball), and Marsha Hobbins (husband Dennis). Lilly’s jobs throughout her life included Grocery Store Clerk, Cotton Mill Factory Worker, Waitress, Homemaker, Medical Secretary, and her favorite job was being the Head Apartment Manager of a large Real Estate Development Company in Kansas City, MO. Lilly married the late Herbert Vernon Eskelin in 1988 and spent her golden years traveling the USA with him on business and pleasure trips, which included family and friends. When not traveling she enjoyed homemaking, baking, and cooking. Lilly was very adventurous and therefore lived in many states including Hunstville AL, Cleveland, OH, Rockford, IL, Kansas City, MO, Ocala, FL and finally living her last days with her Daughter and Son-In-Law in Painesville OH. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 1 PM at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.). I am really sad to hear about this. Herbert V. Eskelin was my father’s uncle (my great uncle).The woman who was my wife from 1993-2001 had frequent conversations and correspondence with Lilly.
I remember her as being a very sweet woman. She was always nice to me. Last time we spoke, they were living in Ocala.
