I had the pleasure of having the Amer family as neighbors in the 1950’s. I grew up with the kids and always enjoyed playing at their warm and friendly house. My parents enjoyed many happy times with the Amers in the Gates Mills Players. Even after I grew up moved away, I always cherished the artistic Christmas cards created by Mr. Amer, which he designed and sent every year. He was kind, loving, intelligent, witty, so artistic and will truly be missed. I Wish Ron and I could be there to honor him now. Godspeed to your heavenly reward, dear Mr. Amer. You lived SUCH a good life!! God’s blessings to his family! Love, Charlene (Smith) and Ron DeLucia

  7. I first met Lou when I joined the Gates Mills Players and liked him immediately because of his soft-spoken and easy manner. He welcomed me to the group and we had many good laughs. Talent exemplified by his artwork, which we discovered we shared. I will miss his Christmas cards. I did a card to send just to him. I asked how I did and he said, “It was a nice try”. He was a friend that will be missed.
