MacNaughton (deceased October 2018) married for 58 years; devoted and loving mother and grandmother to Mark (Jennifer) and their children Gabrielle, Paige and Megan, and Brian (Brenda) and their son Joe and their grandchildren Jacey, Julia and Joelle. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents William I. and Margaret Penrose Hall. Peggy died peacefully in her sleep on February 22, 2022. Peggy grew up in Fredericksburg, VA where she attended James Monroe High School and had many close friends. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, and her Masters of Library Science from Indiana University, where she and Bob met. Between receiving her BA and her Masters, she worked for the FBI in the communications department. A devoted and avid reader, which she imparted to her children, she had a long career as a librarian at the Mayfield library and the South Euclid library, for which she had a particular love. After retiring, she continued to work as a volunteer at the South Euclid library. She was a member of the College Club and volunteered with Bob at Playhouse Square. Peggy and Bob spent much of their retirement traveling the U.S. and Europe. She was a beloved resident of the Breckenridge retirement community for the last 20 years. As she neared the end of her life, many of the staff stopped by to comment on what a sweet person Peggy was.
Due to COVID-19, a private ceremony will be held at the DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home, with burial in Lake View Cemetery. A celebration of Peggy’s life will be scheduled sometime in the spring of 2022.
