My fondest memories of Marija are those of her cooking and baking. She would whip up delicious dinners, complete with gravy, with such ease. Her strudel and cookies were a must, no matter how full you were! From a simple fruit salad at breakfast, to a roast pork with wine gravy, it gave her and her guests great joy.

One of my favorite memories of Teta was when I traveled with her, Uncle Victor and Katie to Nashville. We had our hair styled before the trip. At night, before bed, she would wrap our heads in toilet paper, so our hair wouldn’t get messed up. Teta always welcomed us so graciously when we would visit from New York. We never left her table without enjoying some of her delicious apple strudel! I just know that she and Uncle Victor are once again dancing beautifully together. I will remember her with love and may God bless her with peace and console all of her family at this difficult time.

Maria Banfi Kardos
Hi, this is Maria Kardos a dear friend of the Obreza family with fond memories of both Marija and Viktor senior. My husband Karl (passed in 2014) worked at Parker Hannifin with them both for many years. We would listen and dance to Polka music often and travel on tours together with Polka Bands. She was a good dear friend throughout the years, and I know she’s with Viktor again. I know son Vicktor and daughter Katie and wish them the best. With Love Maria Kardos
