Mary M. “Marty” Zerbi (nee Berring), 81 of Solon, OH, formerly of Warren, OH and Marco Island, FL, departed this earth on Saturday, February 11, 2023. She volunteered tirelessly and prayed daily for family, friends and peace. Marty was a shining light in this world who listened closely, cared deeply and shared selflessly. She led with faith, love, kindness, strength, humility, and her witty humor. An avid Cleveland sports fan, she rarely missed an Indians/Guardians game.

A great lady in so many ways. I was blessed to know her, share our families and our love for baseball. This Astro fan will always be an Indian fan, too. The mother-in-laws! I will miss her friendship, kindness and humor. Prayers of comfort for her family, who loved her dearly. God is pleased.

Marty and I became friends in 1970 and we have been in each others’ lives through “thick and thin”! She often said, “You are like a sister to me!” I felt the same way, “a sisterly love!”
I will miss my sister, Marty, but know her family and our memories will be in my life until we meet again. Love all the Zerbi-Berring clan. Carole Stephenson

Sending heartfelt condolences to all the Berrings and Zerbis. Marty was the best sister-in-law a person could have. Even after my divorce, she remained family to me, ever welcoming and loving. I’ll always remember her wit, her candor, and her kindness. She will be deeply missed.

I was introduced to Marty as “Aunt Marty” and she made me and my family feel a part of her family. Heartfelt condolences. May all the beautiful joyous memories provide comfort and peace.

Marty had that unique ability to mother anyone who had the good fortune to orbit her Sun. She held no bias, just warmth, humor and love. She championed me as if I were born to her and I felt her love immediately. We were sarcastic buddies and we could snipe a premise unmercifully, both taking pride at our witty retorts. She was an unwavering friend, unassuming sounding board and treated me a true Zerbi. I am grateful her gravity pulled me into her orbit and I will miss that beautiful smiling Irish grin!

Mrs. Zerbi was a neighbor of ours when we lived on Coventry. I always enjoyed my visits there as she was always so warm and welcoming. I use to babysit Dominic as an infant. I knew Paula and Janie as well. Please accept our condolences, as your Mom was truly a special lady.
