
MARY A. SHAIA (nee Abood) age 99, beloved wife of the late Charles; loving mother of Rodney; devoted grandmother of Paul (wife Rachel) and the late Stephen and great-grandmother of Jordan and Adam; cherished daughter of the late Namy and Naseema (nee Ina) Abood; dearest sister of the late Richard, George, Toofy, William, Amelia, and LaVera Abood and Emily Helow; dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Mary was born on October 16, 1922 in Jacksonville, Florida and passed away on December 30, 2021. She graduated from High School in Jacksonville, FL and came to Cleveland in 1948. Mary moved to Cleveland Heights in 1951 and Lyndhurst in 1999. She was the Co-Founder and Treasurer of Stay Fresh Pack. Mary was an officer of Immaculate Conception Sodality, Co-Chair for Feast Day Banquet and Co-Chair of Fundraising Aitaneet Foundation. She was an avid reader and loved playing cards. Mary will be remembered most as a social woman with a sense of humor. She was devoted to her family and faith. Mary will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, January 6, 2022 at 11 AM at St. Maron Catholic Church 1245 Carnegie Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115. Private Burial at Knollwood Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mary at the Church THURSDAY MORNING 10-11 AM. Arrangements by THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID.
