My prayers and condolences to family and friends. She was a thoughtful, loving person, with a great sense of humor. The neighborhood won’t be the same without her.

Yes, Mark, she knew many more neighbors than I do. Thank you for this nice note about Mary

I have known the Bartel family all my life and remember when my dad came
home from work one day to tell our family that the twins had been born- so
exciting. Although younger than I am, I saw them grow up as we all went to the same grade school and I also was in high school with Mary’s older sisters, Pat and Eileen. We lived just blocks apart- all West siders in a small town.
My heart goes out to all of the family; the death of a sibling is difficult. May
Mary’s memory be a blessing to all of you in the days ahead. Blessings.

Mary was like family to her friends in the neighborhood.
Her smiling walks and waves were predictable and welcoming : )

Although it has been almost 30 years since I worked with Mare at Supler and Associates we connected last summer and it was like we were never a part. Her humor and that engaging smile; always wanting to hear how our kids were doing rather than allowing time to talk about herself. Rest in peace, Mare. We are going to miss you! My sympathies I extend to the wonderful Bartel Family at this time of loss.
Sandy Olevitch

Mary was a generous, caring and loving person. She lived a block away from my parents. She, Rosa (very young at the time) and the dog would take regular walks to visit my parents. When their health failed, and they moved into an assisted living facility Mary never forgot them. She visited regularly, brightening their days. Mary, you will be missed by so many.
Former Hand Therapy Patient
May the Lord bless and keep you, Mary Rose Bartel.
May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
May the Lord lift the light of his countenance upon you and give you peace.

I still recall Mary’s kind, encouraging, and determined voice as we rehabilitated my hand after complex surgery, plus a hand injury eleven years later. Whether inside or outside of her expertise in hand therapy, Mary bettered the lives of other people, especially the lives of hand patients whom she guided in regaining the use and health of painfully swollen hands. My heart is heavy with grief knowing that we have lost this very best of people, and I realize how grateful I will always be to Mary.
