As a new Funeral Director Apprentice at DeJohn Funeral Homes, Joe Carrier brings families a fresh perspective as they plan a unique and special memorial service for their loved ones.
Joe is able to connect to families through his foundations of faith which led him to his career. “As a practicing Catholic, I see funerals as a very important step in a person’s life and once I became a part of the process, I have loved every minute.”
Growing up in Youngstown, Joe’s strong connection with faith led him to working part-time in a funeral home during high school. Now a graduate of John Carroll University, he helps serve families by showing them the different options they have to honor their loves ones and give their funerals meaning. He is very detail oriented, making sure that families have a positive experience and recognize the importance of the funeral industry.
He is thrilled to be living back in Cleveland and working with the DeJohn family which he feels are progressive leaders in the funeral industry. “The DeJohns not only care about their own family, but every family that they serve and every employee that they hire. I am grateful for such mentors,” said Joe.
Joe also enjoys the spontaneity the day can bring… “You never know who will come through the door or call on the phone. I love hearing different peoples’ stories.”
An avid musician, Joe can be found playing the piano in a dueling pianos band at local bars. He also enjoys watching the Cleveland Indians take a “W” with family and friends. He is happy to be back living in Cleveland!
