MICHAEL W. BITONTI age 59, beloved husband for 31 years of Shelley (nee Lekan); loving father of Vincent (wife Katie, nee Fielding) and Nicholas; cherished son of Albert and Joan (nee Motta); dearest brother of Rozanne Frazee (husband Randy), Suzanne Clark (husband Greg) and Joi Quiles (husband Victor); treasured brother-in-law of Laura Rogant (husband Dave); dear uncle and great-uncle of many. Special friends of the Zelina Family.

Mike was born on July 8, 1961 in Cleveland and passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 11, 2020, after a lengthy illness. Mike’s life was defined by his faith and he is now healed and in the presence of Jesus. His faith was grounded on God’s promise of eternity. He was a lifelong resident of Mayfield Heights and graduated from Mayfield High School in 1979. Mike graduated from Liberty University in 1983 and worked as a computer programmer for Medical Mutual of Ohio, until his last days. He enjoyed golfing, gardening, and his Koi pond. Mike was a sports fan, played softball and was a die-hard Browns fan. Mike could be found regularly sitting on the deck with friends and spending time with family. He loved watching his boys play sports and Home Depot Saturday projects. Mike will be remembered most as a simple, strong, selfless and tender-hearted man who was a caregiver. He was quick witted with a dry sense of humor appreciated by all. Mike had a strong faith and will be dearly missed.

Celebration of Life Service Friday, October 16, 2020 will be PRIVATE due to current restrictions. Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Mike at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY 5-8 PM.

He was one of kind friend and I could never replace Mike as a friend — always selfless, kind and generous who always put his family first. Condolence from Louise Gant on October 17th, 2020 3:32 pm

The news of Mike’s passing was such a surprise to a lot of the people he worked with at Medical Mutual. He will be missed for his hard work and knowledge. I remember speaking with him one day and asked if he by any chance had a relative Victoria Bitonti. To my surprise he said yes he has an Aunt Victoria and she did work in it. Victoria was my very first Keypunch supervisor at my very first IT job out of high school. Prayers are with his family and friends. RIP Mike
