
MICHAEL J. LIONTI age 73, beloved husband for 44 years of Diane (nee Vodila); loving father of Nicholas; cherished son of the late Michael C. and Rose (nee Arcara); dearest brother of Lucy Kotlarsic (husband Andrew), Josephine Papesh (husband Robert), and Linda Cassaro (husband Joseph); dear brother-in-law of Janice and Neil Bernstein; cherished uncle, great-uncle, and friend of many. Survived by his feline boys Cosmo, Charcoal, and Cooper. U.S. Army Vietnam Conflict Veteran.
Michael was a resident of Newbury for over 42 years and grew up in Bedford. He graduated from Bedford High School in 1968 and attended Tri C College. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Helen Catholic Church and St. Vincent de Paul. Michael enjoyed watching westerns and the Cleveland Indians and listening to his favorite music. He is remembered by his sense of humor, his friendliness, social nature, and love for cats. Michael loved spending time with his wife, son, and family who will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Michael to the Wounded Warriors Project P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675. Relatives and friends are requested to meet for Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at St. Helen Catholic Church 12060 Kinsman Rd, Newbury Township, OH 44065 at 9:30AM. Burial following with Military Honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at 2PM. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Michael at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) TUESDAY from 4-8PM.
