Born Anna Marie Musacchio on October 6, 1927, in East Cleveland, Ohio to Louis and Sarah (Pietrantone) Musacchio. She was the second child and eldest daughter in a large and loving family.
She was preceded in death by her family. Father Louis and Mother Sarah, brothers Nicholas (Helen), Louis "Jack" (Beverly), John and James Sr. Musacchio, sisters, Theresa (Leonard) Phillips and Pauline (Albert) Kortyna, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Linda and Carol Musacchio and many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Aunt Anna was raised in a home filled with laughter and love. Being the oldest daughter in the family, a lot was required of her. Taught how to run a household, she then had to quit school to stay at home to help take care of her younger siblings and her mother who had taken ill. It was then she began her love for cooking. She would become known for her wonderful spaghetti dinners, pizza, cakes, sticky buns, fried dough, pizzelle cookies and especially her famous Aunt Anna Cookies. 150 delectable Italian cookies with pink frosting and sprinkles. Always delivered to parties or picnics in large Tupperware containers or a salvaged sheet pizza box in which they fit perfectly. There is not one of us who does not love those cookies, especially the icing and sprinkles that spilled over onto the wax paper on the bottom of the box.
She also excelled in the workplace. Auntie was an assembler and worked at Dill Manufacturing and then Picker Xray where she retired. She really enjoyed her work. A lot of good friends and stories came out of those days that she shared with all of us around the table. In later days they filled her heart as she reminisced over pictures and friends there.
At an early age Auntie gave her heart and life the Lord. As a family they read the Bible together and prayed daily. A few days before she died, she told me stories of her father and mother and how they taught them all to love the Lord with all their hearts and to serve him all the days of their lives. This became the most important part of her life. Being active in the church helped her use her many talents to help others in need. She also used her finances to help many in the family and in missionary work at the church. She always answered the call and gave of herself to family, friends and even strangers. She could crochet and I think over her years she must have made over 1000 baby blankets for family, friends, strangers, unwed mothers, missionary children, and anyone in need. Service was her ministry. Auntie loved us. All of us, individually and collectively. Her family was her world. She was always there for us. She was the original "find your friends app". She knew where everyone was any time of the day and night.. She poured out her love to us over and over again through visits, phone calls, dinners, sleep overs, words of compassion, direction, mentoring, admonishing if needed, but mostly letting each and every one of us know how much we were loved by her. Some of us even lived with her.
Aunt Anna was amazing!
In 2014 Aunt Anna was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and for the past 11 years has been a resident at Maplewood in Chardon, Ohio. Although she went through so much and lost so much, she never lost her love for Jesus. He was the one thing she held on to. He was the one thing she remembered til the end! She never tired of singing the old hymns and reading the scripture and we did it over and over again each time we visited together. Praise and delight in God's word was always on her lips. This awful disease could not take everything.
Aunt Anna entered into heaven on Monday, August 18, 2025, at 2:25am. She was 97. The Lord took her peacefully and beautifully as she slept. She fought the good fight, she finished the race.... Well done Auntie!
